Lock, Fade And Stay Away (8/4/20)

To look for the remainder of my locks, as well as seeing Fiesta’s locks for Tuesday August 4th go check out our twitter (@thechasers617).

Indiana Pacers EVEN

The Indiana Pacers have been playing very good basketball before the shut down of the league, and have been playing well in the bubble as well. Only one problem with that so has their opponent tonight the Orlando Magic. The Magic currently sit at the seventh spot in the Eastern Conference and is looking to continue their winning ways tonight. Orlando is 5-0 straight up in their last five games, while Indiana is 8-2 straight up in their last ten games.

Oladipo going up against his former team makes me locked into having the Pacers tonight. Also I think that the Pacers are a better team than the Orlando Magic and we will see it in today’s matchup. Lock in the Pacers moneyline at EVEN for tonight’s tilt.

Tampa Bay Rays -135

Tampa Bay has struggled to start off the season, they have lost five straight games and will look to bounce back and get a win tonight against the also struggling Boston Redsox. Tonight’s pitching matchup consists of Nathan Eovaldi going up against Charlie Morton. Eovaldi has looked really well in his first two starts of the season, while Charlie Morton is looking to get his first quality start of the season.

I like the Rays’ lineup in this matchup to expose Eovaldi early and to not give up the lead. I’m locking in the Rays tonight at -135 due to the fact that I believe that the Redsox pitching staff will blow another game for them tonight.

Minnesota Wild -115

The Minnesota Wild took the first game in their best of five series qualifier against the Vancouver Canucks on Sunday with a 3-0 win. Tonight these two teams meet again, and even with the Wild being as hot as they are (talking before the shutdown, and how good they looked in game one). I am fading them tonight against the Canucks.

Tonight we see the Canucks young core up front bounce back and have a much better game. I also expect a better game from Markstrom tonight. While Alex Stalock takes a bit of a fall off after his shut out in game one. Take the Canucks tonight and fade the wild.

Stay Away:

Over 11.5 (San Francisco vs Colorado)

This series started off hot last night, as the Rockies held on to win 7-6 which would have covered the line for the over/under line tonight. Unfortunately, for those that like the over tonight that the final for last night’s game was for last night and not tonight. Colorado’s under has hit in eight out of the last eleven games for the Rockies.

With tonight’s pitching matchup being Kevin Gausman vs German Marquez and looking at the fact that Gausman has given up three runs in each of his first two starts you might be inclined to take the over. I say the under is the play here as I see Marquez pitching very well tonight. Stay far far away from the over in this one.
