Lock, Fade And Stay Away (8/17/20)

Lock(s):

Over 218 (Philadelphia 76ers vs Boston Celtics)

The Boston Celtics open up their first round series tonight against the Philadelphia 76ers. Now at the beginning of the season if you asked me who the Celtics didn’t want to see in the first round, I would have said the 76ers. At this very point in the season, my thoughts on this matchup have changed. Philadelphia will be without young star Ben Simmons who is out for the rest of the season.

Boston’s core is already clicking on all cylinders, and add a big loss to the 76ers and the Celtics become clear cut favorites in this series. Philadelphia hasn’t looked great without Simmons and we will see it tonight. The over is a lock tonight because of how well the Celtics are going to shoot and play on the offensive end. Lock in the over in this one tonight folks.

Under 9.5 (Kansas City Royals vs Minnesota Twins)

The Minnesota Twins and Kansas City Royals are finishing up their four game series tonight. The final score has been the same in all three games, just change the winner in every other game and that has been the series so far. 4-2 final scores have been the thing in this series, and does it continue tonight? I don’t think there is anyway that the score will be the exact same for all four games in this series, but I do really like the under here.

In the last nineteen games for the Minnesota Twins, the under has hit fourteen times. For the Royals in their last six games the under has hit five times. This game is going to be under today and you might as well lock it in already.

Fade:

St. Louis Blues -125

I am still not buying stock on the St. Louis Blues just yet. Yes, they did win last night in OT and played Jake Allen in net. I just don’t see them tying up the series tonight after that overtime game last night. Both sides took a ton of shots last night, but Allen gave up one fewer goals that was the difference maker. I still like Vancouver in this series, because I don’t think the Blues are going to keep up the pace that they had last night. Fade the Blues as they will go down 3-1 in the series heading into game five.

Stay Away:

Over 10 (Boston Red Sox vs New York Yankees)

This series has been one of the most one-sides series that I have seen in quite some time. The Yankees are looking for the four game sweep of the Redsox tonight, and we are looking at the over/under in this one. After the Yankees scored ten or more runs in the first two games, they only scored four last night. The Redsox offense has struggled as of late, and even if they get going today it won’t be enough for this over to hit. I am staying far far away from the over in this one.
