Lock, Fade And Stay Away (8/16/20)

I am trying to do what every gambler dreams of doing and that is go positive every single day in a week span. Right now I’m six for six on positive days this week, and if you haven’t already you should follow us on twitter (@thechasers617) to get the rest of my lock(s) and all of Fiesta’s.

Lock(s):

Calgary Flames -105

The Calgary Flames are looking to take a commanding 3-1 series lead over the Dallas Stars in today’s game four matchup. Dallas has looked alright at times in this series, but the Flames have had their number for the majority so far. Ben Bishop won Dallas game two, and when Dallas doesn’t go to him they have lost both games this series. Look for the Stars to go to Bishop today to try and even up the series today. Even though I don’t think it is going to matter who’s in net for the Stars. Calgary’s getting production from everybody especially their forwards in the bottom six.

Dillion Dube has been a big difference maker in this series, and if that top line for Calgary gets going they are going to be an extremely tough team to beat. Lock in the Flames as I see their offensive production being better than Dallas’ today.

Philadelphia Phillies -136

The Phillies offense proved me wrong yesterday, as they continued their hot streak against the Mets. Today’s pitching matchup is Rick Porcello for the Mets and Zack Wheeler for the Phillies. I am locking in the Phillies for two reasons today and two reasons only. The first reason is because I really like the way that Zack Wheeler has been pitching and I think the combination of him and the Phillies offense is a lock for a win today.

The second reason is that I am on a new trend, and that trend is betting against Rick Porcello every time he pitches. The Former Cy Young Pitcher has looked mediocre at best in his first season with the Mets, and his ERA (5.68) is a showing of it. The Mets are 1-3 straight up in games that he has started in this season, and with that being said lock in the Phillies moneyline today.

Fade:

St. Louis Blues -130

Oh the St. Louis Blues are really in the gutter right now. The reigning Stanley Cup Champions are struggling in the bubble, and their hot goaltender from a season ago doesn’t look good. Jordan Binnington was huge for the Blues in their run at winning their first ever Stanley Cup Final last season. Since entering the bubble,  Binnington has been very lackluster to say the least. Does St. Louis go with the change in goaltending tonight for game three against Vancouver? I personally doesn’t think who it is in net for them the Blues are in trouble, and you should fade them tonight yet again.

Stay Away:

Over 9 (Milwaukee vs Chicago Cubs)

The Milwaukee Brewers and Chicago Cubs over hit yesterday in their 6-5 Brewers win yesterday. Today though I am right back on the stay far far away train for the over in this one today. With the pitching matchup being Josh Lindblom for the Brewers and Jon Lester for the Chicago Cubs. I just don’t see this over hitting today. Lester has been on fire this season posting a 2-0 record with a 1.06 ERA to go along with it. Lester has struggled in his last three starts against the Brewers, but I think Lester goes about seven innings of shutout or one run baseball. While the Cubs offense will put up about four runs on their own. Stay far far away from this over today.
