Lock, Fade And Stay Away (8/15/20)

We are five for five on positive days …. if you are missing my picks you better follow us on twitter @thechasers617. The rest of my lock(s) and all of Fiesta’s are posted on their daily. If you want winners you better go follow us on twitter.

Over 232.5 (Memphis vs Portland)

Dame Time has taken a whole different meaning since the bubble. Portland is playing Memphis in a play in game situation that if they win today they will take on the Lakers starting on Tuesday in round one of the Western Conference Playoffs. Portland has been unreal in the bubble as they went 6-2 in the bubble, and are looking to continue their hot run today. Memphis on the other hand has been lackluster at best in the bubble. 2-6 record and haven’t really shown that they deserve that eighth seed in the playoffs. I personally would have loved to seen Phoenix take on Portland, but we can’t get what we want all the times.

Memphis is going to have to score a lot of points to keep up with Portland. The Blazers in their eight games in the bubble so far are 7-1 when it comes to hitting the over. Portland is going to score a lot and the Grizzlies are going to have to do the same to keep it close. With that logic lock in the over in this matchup as this could be the last regular season game we see in the bubble.

Columbus Blue Jackets +1.5

The Columbus Blue Jackets have had the number of the Lightning recently and a trend like that could very well continue in today’s game three matchup. Game two ended up with the Blue Jackets winning 3 to 1 over Tampa Bay. Without Stamkos that top line hasn’t looked as great as they did during the regular season. With Tampa Bay playing the way that they have in this series though, I wouldn’t be surprised if they win game three today. Here is the thing about this matchup though, Columbus in their last seven meetings with Tampa Bay have either lost by one goal or won the game. Lock in the Blue Jackets on the puck line with the thoughts of if Tampa wins this game it will be by a goal.

Philadelphia Phillies -164

The Philadelphia Phillies are looking to build off their 6-5 win last night against the Mets. Before last night the Phillies got swept by the Baltimore Orioles in their three game series. Philly’s lineup has hit well lately, and Bryce Harper is one of the hottest hitters in all of baseball. In today’s pitching matchup we have Steven Matz for the Mets going up against Aaron Nola for the Phillies. Matz has lost his last three starts and Aaron Nola’s strikeout total has been high in his last two starts, but is 1-1 on the season. The advantage here is for Nola, but I think the Phillies lineup lets Nola down today. Fade the Phillies moneyline today as their lineup cools off a little bit.

Stay Away:

Over 9 (Milwaukee vs Chicago)

This matchup between these two teams haven’t been high scoring at all. Even better stat to stay away from the over here is that in their last ten meetings the under has hit seven times. Even with today’s pitching matchup being Adrian Houser for the Brewers and Colin Rea for the Cubs, I still am staying far far away from this over. Milwaukee’s lineup has been mediocre at best all season long, and the Cubs lately haven’t been spectacular. With that being said stay far far away from this over today and hammer the under.
