Lock, Fade And Stay Away (8/12/20)

If you want the rest of my locks, and all of Fiesta’s make sure that you follow us on twitter (@thechasers617).

Lock(s):

Los Angeles Clippers -190

The Los Angeles Clippers are taking on the Denver Nuggets in a game that could very well decide which one gets the two seed in the post season. The Clippers have struggled as of late against the Denver Nuggets, but this is a different Nuggets team that they are seeing. They are going to get a look at Michael Porter Jr. who the Clippers passed on not once, but twice in the 2018 NBA Draft.

The two stars for both teams is what makes the difference in this one. As I see Kawhi and Paul George having a very good game today. Both of them on the floor together is still a force to be reckoned with. That is a majority of the reason why the Clippers moneyline is a lock that I have today.

Washington Capitals -135

The Washington Capitals are taking on the New York Islanders in their first round matchup. The Capitals are the favorite in this one and righfully so. Washington still has guys from their Stanley Cup run, and are looking to make yet another deep run this year. One thing that the Capitals will have a problem with is that top defenseman John Carlson is out for the time being.

Washington still has the advantage in my opinion offensively, and with their goaltending. I think the Capitals set the tempo for the series today and win game one. Lock in the Capitals moneyline.

Fade:

St. Louis Blues -145

The St. Louis Blues have played way too inconsistent for my liking in the round robin for me to look at them in the opener in their first round matchup against the Canucks. Especially with the Canucks having their number in their last three meetings. Vancouver is 2-0-1 against the Blues in the last three meetings between the two teams. The Canucks have a tough young team that is going to make the Blues’ lives very difficult in this series. Fade the Blues tonight until they can show that they are still the same team that won the Stanley Cup a season ago.

Stay Away:

Over 12.5 (Arizona vs Colorado)

The matchup between the Rockies and Diamondbacks have been very high scoring in their ten meetings. On average both teams score a combined 11 runs, and both offenses have been very great. Today’s pitching matchup between Luke Weaver for the D-Backs and Antonio Senzatela for the Rockies. Weaver has struggled in every start of the 2020 season. While Senzatela has been very good in each of his starts so far. I think both offenses cool off a bit today, so stay far far away from the over in this one.
