The Cardinals have taken the first two games of the series against the Pirates, and I believe today they will get the clean sweep. St. Louis’ lineup has looked great to start off the season averaging seven runs per game so far. Given the universal DH rule put into play the Cardinals lineup looks like a well balanced attack. Goldschmidt, Carpenter, DeJong and company have started off very well so far this season and will look to keep it up today against Pittsburgh. The Cardinals are 6-0 SU in their last six home games against the Pirates which is a big reason why they are one of my locks today.
The Padres have maintained the lead for the majority of the series, and will look for the clean sweep today. San Diego’s offense has averaged six runs in their first two games of the series, and will look to continue its dominance over the Diamondbacks. San Diego all-around has looked very good so far this series which is giving me the confidence to lock them in today. Also the Padres are 7-2 SU in their last 9 home games against Arizona, which is making this lock a no-brainer for me.
Philadelphia’s offense came alive yesterday against the Marlins, and will look to take the series today. Unfortunately I do not see that happening, due to the fact at how well their offense was yesterday I believe that they will take a step back. The Phillies are 3-8 straight up in their last eleven games, and have Vince Velasquez on the mound who was very inconsistent a season ago. Look for Miami’s offense to cause problems and when you are deciding on who to bet on today, make sure you fade away from the Phillies today.
Over 11.5 (Brewers vs Cubs)
Milwaukee’s offense put on a show yesterday against the Cubs, now could they do it again today? Probably, due to the inconsistency of the Cubs pitching staff. Now Chicago’s offense has scored three runs in both games so far this series, does Milwaukee get up to at least nine runs then? I would say no, and in Milwaukee’s last five games the under has hit four times. Also in their last twenty games at Wrigley Field the under has hit sixteen out of twenty times. Stay away from the over in this game and enjoy collecting from taking the under.
