Even with all of the animosity that has gone in the direction of Celtics superstar point guard Kyrie Irving this season, he finally had something positive to say on Saturday night.
Kyrie Irving said he won’t get frustrated anymore. Said he still doesn’t see anyone beating the Celtics in a seven-game series.

Why Was This Comment Even Said?
Well…this had happened just hours before the comment occurred.
The Bulls brought it against Boston last night, winning 126-116 behind career nights from LaVine and Markkanen.

The Celtics lost to the Bulls 126-116 on Saturday night, who are 16-44 on the regular season. The Celtics doomed themselves when they only scored 18 points in the 2nd quarter while the Bulls doubled that, putting up 36. Zach Lavine and Lauri Markkanen led the way with career high nights (42 and 35, respectively) and gave the Celtics another frustrating loss. The Celtics could have used this win after losing a heartbreaker in Milwaukee on Thursday night. But, it didn’t happen.
Why I Love Kyrie’s Comment
Kyrie is onto something here. Notice how he said a seven game series, not three; not five; but seven. If you look at some of the Celtics games this season, they have beaten teams like the Bucks and Raptors at home and play competitively against these teams on the road as well. They currently own Philadelphia (lol!) everytime they match up and the Pacers are not going anywhere with Victor Oladipo out with a knee injury. The Celtics know they probably are not getting a top two seed and that’s okay (I guess) at this point in the season.
In Conclusion
This is a big step forward for Kyrie Irving. People have doubted his leadership all season. Reporters and analysts are very quick to point the finger at him for the Celtics underachieving season so far. But he knows the talent is there to make a deep playoff run. It also makes you think that maybe, just maybe, he knows he is coming back? Stay tuned!
