Knicks Finally Hire Tom Thibodeau

Today the New York Knicks finally hired Tom Thibodeau as their basketball coach.  Thibs signed a 5-year deal and hopefully the Knicks will allow him to actually coach and finish his 5 years.

A few months ago when they hired William Wesley, I said everything Knicks is on the up and this signing proves it.  Granted Thibs was the favorite to land the job, it’s about time the Knicks make it official.  Look I know a lot of people disagree with the way Thibs coaches, but there is one thing he is great at – developing young talent.  Regardless with what happened with Derrick Rose and his career, the early 2010s Bulls were a super fun team to watch and let’s not forget he also brought those sorry Timberwolves to a playoff berth.

But I will not stand for the Thibs slander.  I am not a Knicks fan in any way shape or form, but I’m glad they are finally putting the right people in the right position to make this franchise good again.  Now, I am really excited to see Thibs develop the young talent the Knicks have.  I really do believe that Thibs can bring RJ, Knox, Robinson and Ntilikina to the next level.  And not to mention bring Dennis Smith Jr. back to the confident explosive guard he is.

The Knicks have a better roster, in my opinion, than teams who are at the bottom half of the East, and adding Thibs definitely makes them stronger now.  I said it in my last Knicks blog and I’ll say it again, don’t be surprised if they sneak into a playoff spot next year.
