Kevin Garnett is Not Pleased with Kyrie Irving Stomping on the Celtics Logo Following Game 4

Former Boston Celtics star Kevin Garnett is not happy with Kyrie Irving after wiping his foot on the Celtics’ logo at center court following the game on Sunday.

Irving was seen at midcourt shaking hands with teammates and then he wipes his foot across “Lucky” the logo on the court.

The Nets will look to end the Celtics season on Tuesday night as the series shifts back to Brooklyn.

The incident at center court happened moments before a fan at the T.D. Garden threw a water bottle in the direction of Irving as he was leaving the court.

Kevin Garnett Takes to Social Media

Garnett would take to his social media to call out Irving over disrespecting the Celtics logo.

“We just gonna act like we didn’t see that (what’s) going on…” Garnett’ posted. “You can’t do that. That’s not coo on no level .. All of us need to be better (for real for real). I’m just sayin…”

Garnett played with the Celtics from 2007-2013 and won an NBA Championship his first year in Boston.

Celtics Fan Reactions to Kyrie Irving Stomping on the Logo

Fan reactions have been anti-Kyrie based off his actions following the game. However, the incident following the game where the fan threw a water bottle at Irving has gained national attention.

The two issues are different in nature, Irving wiping his foot on the Celtics logo is more disrespect to the fan base and organization. Irving’s disrespect of the logo doesn’t warrant projectiles thrown in his direction.

The 21-year-old Braintree man was charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.

Cole Buckley was given a lifetime ban from the Boston Celtics attending games at the T.D. Garden.

Irving’s Response to the Incident

“”It’s unfortunate that sports have come to this crossroads,” Irving said. “You’re seeing a lot of old ways come up. It’s been that way in history in terms of entertainment, performers and sports for a long time. Just underlying racism and treating people like they’re in a human zoo, throwing stuff at people, saying things.”
