Kevin Durant Will Not Attend the Warriors Trip to the White House

After a championship in any major sport, the winning team traditionally will make a trip to the White House to meet with the President, take a tour of the White House, and take a team photo. It was reported today that NBA Finals MVP Kevin Durant would not be attending a potential trip to the nation’s capital after his Warriors won the Finals a few months ago. His reasoning for why should really not come to shock anyone. Like a lot of people in the United States right now, he doesn’t agree with who is currently in office.

When asked about LeBron James’ recent comments in regards to the events that took place in Charlottesville and the President, Durant said “Hell yeah, hell yeah. That’s how it’s supposed to be. We don’t f*** with him.” I think it’s safe to say that KD isn’t shy about his opinion on Donald Trump.

Since Trump took office, the only other team to visit him is the Patriots following the greatest come back of all time in Super Bowl 51. We saw a ton of players, including Tom Brady, take that trip off. If this does take place for the Warriors, I won’t be surprised at all to see more of his teammates follow him in sitting the event out.
