Kawhi Leonard remains the weirdest superstar in the NBA.
After striking out on Gordon Hayward a few months ago, New Balance has officially announced a partnership with one of the biggest stars in the NBA right now, Kawhi Leonard. Leonard automatically will become the face of New Balance’s basketball team, and the second basketball player to represent the brand, joining 2019 NBA Draft prospect Darius Bazley.
Joining New Balance as a basketball player is such a bizarre move, but you couldn’t show me a better pairing if you tried. Kawhi is the most low-key superstar in the NBA right now. He doesn’t talk, he does very few commercials, he has that creepy ass laugh, and he doesn’t use any social media. Overall just a weird dude. It makes perfect sense for him and him only to leave one of the biggest shoe companies in the game to sign with one who literally has ONE other basketball player under contract. It’s odd, but it works. I can’t wait to see how ugly the shoes come out.
