If You’re A Celtics’ Fan, You Want LeBron On The Lakers
Well, the NBA Offseason is here and it is on fire. Shams dropped the first bomb of the year saying that Kawhi Leonard wants out of San Antonio. Woj added on saying that he wants to go to the Lakers, which means we have another super team possibly in the works. Whatever happens to Kawhi, it is bound to have an effect on where LeBron James goes this offseason. If Kawhi ends up the Lakers, the door would be open for LeBron and a new super-team would be formed. But if you’re a Celtics’ fan, you want that to happen for multiple reasons. Let me explain.
First off, there are 4 legit contenders to sign LeBron. They are the Cavaliers, the Lakers, the Rockets, and the 76ers. Two of those teams are in the East and two of them are in the West. Considering LeBron has been to 8 straight Finals, the East hasn’t put up much of a challenge. Sadly, the Celtics have lost to LeBron 3 times in the Conference Finals during those 8 years. So even he stays with that crap bag Cavs team, the Celtics would have to go through the Cavs and an improved 76ers team just to get to the Finals. If LeBron goes West, the Celtics wouldn’t have to face him until the NBA Finals.
Now the reason I want the Lakers specifically is because of how good the Rockets are. Even if Paul George and Kawhi join LeBron in LA, they aren’t as good as the Rockets and they aren’t as good as the Warriors. They’ll need time to get their chemistry down and going blow to blow with the Rockets and the Warriors in the playoffs would wear all 3 teams down. If LeBron went to Houston, the Rockets would be the favorites to win it all and I don’t think the Celtics could beat them.
Finally, I want the Celtics/Lakers rivalry back. For the last few years, the rivalry hasn’t been around due to the Lakers being a shitshow. Don’t get me wrong, I love seeing the big brother (Celtics) always beat up on the little brother (Lakers) in this situation. But as much as it pains me to say, the NBA is better when the Celtics and the Lakers are great. With LeBron on the Lakers, Kyrie Irving on the Celtics; those games would be must-watch TV. And just imagine the Finals? Celtics vs Lakers and Kyrie vs LeBron. Who wouldn’t want that? I would and I’m a Celtics fan.
