Happy 35th birthday to Julian Edelman, now former Patriots wide receiver. If you don’t recall, last year I wrote an article about Edelman’s 34th birthday. This year is a little different though. Edelman is officially retired and heading in a different direction with his life. But hey, we can still always reflect on the good times right? So let’s do just that on Edelman’s 35th birthday.

On Julian Edelman’s 35th Birthday, We Celebrate His Dependability

Julian Edelman was one of the best wide receivers in Patriots history. His catch percentage: 65.9%. That’s pretty good! Edelman was always the most reliable target for Tom Brady when the two of them were together for 10 seasons in New England. We as fans knew that Edelman would make a big play when needed. The Super Bowl 51 catch, the Super Bowl 49 go ahead touchdown, and the Super Bowl 53 overall performance are a few examples of that. Plus remember this…he had four seasons of over 90 catches. He probably could’ve had 100 receptions in 2018 if not for a four game suspension at the beginning of the season. But the bottom line is this: Julian Edelman was dependable as they come. Let’s not forget this today on his 35th birthday.

Edelman Wants to Retire as Only a Patriot

He’s denied all of the rumors and put everything to bed as far as playing for another team. Not the Bucs. Not the 49ers. Only a Patriot. That’s a respectable move for all of Patriots nation. Edelman was given his shot in New England and he is surely appreciative of Robert Kraft, Bill Belichick, Tom Brady, and the rest of Patriots nation. It’s awesome to see.
