Football is BACK…Kind of

Training camp has started in the NFL and that just means we are one step closer to the NFL season starting. Teams were back to the old grind and that’s all we can ask for. It might be a couple more days until they put on full pads, but this is where all the rookies and new teammates start to build some chemistry for the upcoming season.

The players may not be in full pads yet, but Bill Belichick was already in midseason form. He was shooting down reporters left and right when they questioned him about things from last year. He absolutely refused to comment on things that happened in the past. Will we ever find out why Malcolm was benched in the Super Bowl? Do him and Jimmy G still text? Will Alex Guerrero ever be around again? We really may never know, but hey, on to 2018…

There is also the curious case of Brady and Gronk against Belichick. It seems like everyone is at least surviving together. They have to communicate at some point if they plan on winning games this season. It is a wonder why they showed up and did not hold out this training camp. Julio Jones just got himself PAID for this season, and why wouldn’t Gronk want to do the same? These guys both need new contracts to stay in New England, so it will be interesting to see if they get restructured before the season starts.

All in all, I’m sick of all the drama. I’m excited for the real football that’s going to happen. Who is going to win starting jobs? Who will be the unexpected player to find himself a roster spot? What surprising player might find himself out of a job? Who will have an unfortunate injury before real football starts? These are all the exciting things that come with the start of training camp, and prepare yourself for some football!
