Fantasy Football: Week 16 Studs and Duds
Christmas AND football?!?! How could it get much better? In one of the most important weeks in all of fantasy football (championship week) I hope you played some of these Studs because boy did they go off. On the other hand if you happened to play one of the guys on the Duds list, I am sorry for your misfortune.
Studs
Quarterback, Jared Goff: Goff was the top scorer among fantasy quarterbacks this past week with 25.4 standard points. The second year quarterback and the Rams have been on fire as of late and I expect that to extend into the last week of the regular season.
Running Back, Todd Gurley: Gurley is on FIRE right now. The Rams running back is making his way into the NFL MVP race and is surely becoming the fantasy MVP in the process.
Wide Receiver, Larry Fitzgerald: If I’ve learned one thing watching Cardinals games it’s that it doesn’t matter who is throwing the ball, Fitz will catch anything that comes his way. Larry is the old reliable of the fantasy PPR world and his age doesn’t seem to be a problem yet.
Tight End, Eric Ebron: Ebron had a nice week thanks to a 30 yard touchdown catch against the Bengals. Unfortunately the Lions are out of the playoff race so I don’t know how that will affect them playing their best next week.
Duds
Quarterback, Dak Prescott: Prescott had a lousy Christmas eve game throwing two INTs against a depleted Seattle secondary. I am not sure the return of Zeke did anything for him and wouldn’t trust him going forward.
Running Back, Devonta Freeman: Freeman and the Falcons struggled against the Saints in week 16, resulting in a poor fantasy performance. Next week the Falcons can secure a playoff spot with a win and I bet Freeman has a better game.
Wide Receiver, Golden Tate: Unlike Ebron, Tate struggled against the Bengals in week 16. Tate had been good all year and hopefully he didn’t cost you your championship matchup.
Tight End, Kyle Rudolph: Rudolph has been reliable all season and put up a dud stat line in week 16. I don’t expect that to happen again next week with the Vikings fighting for playoff seeding next week.
