Fantasy Football: Week 15 Studs and Duds
It’s week 16! A lot of stuff happened this week and hopefully you won your fantasy matchup. This week I’m gonna give you my studs and duds from week 15 including the big names because well I think the guys that really went off or completely under performed need to be named.
Studs
Cam Newton, QB Carolina Panthers: Newton enjoyed a really nice day against a suspect Green Bay defense. The Panthers and Newton are really rolling right when the playoff race is kicking in and I think his production continues.
Todd Gurley, RB Los Angeles Rams: Gurley went OFF this last Sunday in a huge divisional game for the Rams. Gurley took 24 touches for 180 yards and 4 TDs. His huge day was definitely the factor some important matchups this weekend. Personally he helped me reach the championship with my best WR out for the count Antonio Brown (hope he recovers in time for the Steelers playoff run).
Sterling Shepard, WR New York Giants: Shepard was targeted 16 times this last weekend and he took advantage of most of his chances. Shepard caught 11 balls for 139 yards and a TD. He is the top (healthy) WR right now on the Giants and should be counted on going forward.
Rob Gronkowski, TE New England Patriots: Sunday afternoon we saw Gronk being Gronk. Arguably the most dominant TE in the history of football. Watching the Patriots drive showed me that Brady still relies on the big guy in big pressure moments.
Duds
Russell Wilson, QB Seattle Seahawks: Wilson only managed 11.6 points in a disappointing game vs the Rams. The last time he scored under 19 points was in week 5 against the Rams so it seems to be a trend.
Lamar Miller, RB Houston Texans: It feels nice to write about Miller on the duds list because I mentioned him in Start ’em Sit ’em last week and told owners to stay away from him this week. Hopefully you listened to me because he managed a measly 3.3 standard fantasy points.
Devin Funchess, WR Carolina Panthers: While Newton had a nice day, Funchess struggled. It may have been because of the return and emergence of Greg Olsen as Newtons go to guy. Only catching 1 of 4 targets for 19 yards isn’t something I see happening again though.
Jimmy Graham, TE Seattle Seahawks: When Wilson Struggles, so does Graham. I’m pretty sure Graham scored the least amount of fantasy points among TE’s this week with -0.1. Catching 1 yard for -1 yards is something I truly hope doesn’t happen again.
