Fantasy Football Hardo Advice – How to Win in 2022
I’ll be the first to admit it- I’m a huge hardo when it comes to fantasy football. At the end of every season, I have a mental shortlist of guys who I think no one else is watching as hard as I am for next year. And then I always completely forget about them come draft time. Therefore, I’m writing this blog for myself, so I can circle back to it early next September when I’m getting ready to be a fantasy football hardo again for four months straight. I’m keeping this short and sweet- one guy per main offensive fantasy position to keep in your back pocket. These are all guys who surprised me this season, and who I think will carry their momentum into having even bigger years next year. Despite all of this, I still don’t think any of these guys will be sexy picks in 2022.
QB- Joe Burrow
Dude is just a baller. Came back from his ACL injury and didn’t skip a beat. With all of his young weapons around him, I think he could even be a sneaky MVP candidate in 2022. I could see other fantasy hardo’s like myself going after Burrow hard next year. Could be an elite fantasy QB for years to come. A Burrow/Ja’Marr Chase combo next year could win you a league.
RB- Javonte Williams
Even with their fresh legs, I’m always hesitant to draft rookie RB’s. Especially if they’re in a split backfield to start out. There’s just no way to know how it’ll shake out. But I loved what I saw out of this guy all year. He runs hard as hell and can catch too. He’d be even better in a PPR league. With Gordon becoming an UFA in 2022, Javonte will be the top dog in this Denver backfield and should have a huge year.
WR- Jaylen Waddle
The amount of targets he got as a rookie is insane. Like a lot of other people, I wasn’t sure how he was going to perform coming off of his injury in college. But he is the clear WR1 in Miami, and he and Tua have a nice connection from college too. Even if Tua doesn’t remain the starter in Miami, I still love Waddle. He’s as involved in his offense as anyone else is in the entire league. He has the best new celly in the NFL this season too.
TE- Dalton Schultz
He’s becoming an UFA after this season, and I have no idea whether Dallas will re-sign him or let him walk. He could most likely get more money elsewhere, considering all the starpower on the Cowboys’ roster now. In that same vein, I love how he was still able to produce with all the mouths to feed in that offense. If he goes elsewhere with less competition for targets, he could make such a giant leap next year. Keep your eye on Schultz this offseason, especially with how high people will continue to draft big name TE’s. That trend will surely continue next season and Schultz could fly under the radar.
Feel free to come back to this blog next August to see if you can snag these guys at a nice spot in your draft. If I could give any more sage advice, don’t find yourself in Fantasy Football Draft Tik Tok in August. It’s an absolute hell-hole of a place. Once you fall into that algorithm there’s no coming back. 30 minutes go by, and before you know it a bunch of random dudes will have you convinced that every single player in the NFL will have a breakout season in fantasy. It’ll put your brain in a pretzel real quick. Don’t try it. Not even once.
