Over the weekend, I watched Ellen DeGeneres’ Netflix Comedy Special “Relatable” and it was wasn’t that funny.
I am a big fan of the kind of humor that most teenage boys are fans of. Stuff that hits on coming of age, growing up, puberty, sex, disgusting stuff and of course lots of swears.
I also like dark humor which is the type of stuff that takes “political correctness” and throws it out the window. For example Anthony Jeselnik’s Netflix comedy special “Thoughts and Prayers” is something that made me laugh for days.
Ellen’s jokes were flat and not funny, only meant for adults who find things funny at her part of her life.
I guess not every comedian can make jokes about sex, drugs and alcohol. I pretty much enjoyed her just being up there on stage thinking to myself, wondering how she even got a comedy special to begin with.
With that being said, Ellen is a wonderful woman who is better suited for her daytime job of being an inspiration to hundreds of people who need help in their lives one way or another.
I love her show and every now and then while scrummaging through YouTube, a clip of her show shows up and I watch what amazing things she does for people.
I don’t think she will be getting another comedy special all that soon because I can’t lose another hour of my life to watch her again.
