Drama City AKA The Cleveland Cavaliers
I am absolutely loving all of the drama that is going on in Cleveland right now. The Cavaliers are playing terrible basketball, and the front office is running out of time to get a deal done before tomorrow. Although the Cavaliers are currently standing at third in the Eastern Conference, there are only 4.5 games that separate them from the eight seed.
Why would a team want to make a deal with the Cavaliers? The two valuable things that the Cavaliers own are LeBron James and the Brooklyn pick. As of right now the Cavaliers are unwilling to involve either in trade talks.
LeBron 100% already has his bags packed, and is thinking about next season. Why would he want to stay on a team that will not be any better next year? He has the chance to play for a bunch of teams out West, and even a couple of teams in the East. I am not saying that the Cavaliers are done this year, because LeBron is still one of the best players in the NBA. It would not totally shock me if the Cavaliers end up making the Eastern Conference Finals or even the Finals. LeBron is that good, and once the trade deadline passes the team will start to play better together. I wish I could say they have not chance, but who is really a threat to them.
Obviously the Celtics and Raptors are the top dogs right now, but the rest of the East is trash. The Wizards are without Wall, and although they are playing better basketball without him, I do not think that will last after the All-Star break. The Bucks and Heat are teams that can give you a solid game, but they have not shot in a 7 game series against LeBron. What I am saying is that the Cavaliers will be one of the top three teams in the East once the season ends and make a run at the Championship.
