Down Go The Warriors

The Toronto Raptors took down the Golden State Warriors by a score of 114-110 to win the NBA Finals in 6 games. Who said the NBA was predictable? Well, who predicted at the beginning of the season that the Raptors would win the NBA Finals in 6 games over the Warriors? Absolutely no one (Even Raptors fans). Even before the Finals started, I stated that the Warriors would win the series in 6.  This Raptors team is coached by a rookie coach in Nick Nurse and was the team took a huge chance on Kawhi.  Welp, I explained what the Raptors had to do to win the Championship, and they did exactly those things. The Raptors received phenomenal play from their big men (Siakam, Gasol, and Ibaka), Kawhi played his game, and the bench did more than enough.

I give the Golden State Warriors a ton of credit for fighting till the end, even without a couple of their superstars. The team showed a glimpse of what they could do when Durant played 11 minutes during game 5. However, the Warriors just weren’t healthy enough to get the job done. It was tough to see two amazing players in Durant and Thompson go down. We pray that they have speedy recoveries. Both players will most likely not be ready for the start of next season.

People if Kawhi decides to stay in Toronto, then look out. This team is built to win for the next few years. I am excited for what happens over the offseason because the NBA is about to get more unpredictable.
