Do The Steelers Pose The Biggest Threat To The Patriots?

Like most of us in Boston, I watched the Celtics play the Warriors last night. Once that game ended though I turned on Thursday night football to see how the Steelers were doing. I figured it would be a decent test for them, I mean the Titans are solid. But by the time I got to the game, it was already out of hand, the Steelers were rolling.

The Steelers ended up winning the game 40-17 over the Titans. The Steelers looked probably the best they have all season. Big Ben played his best game of the season throwing for 299 yards and 3 touchdowns, and after a sub par week from Antonio Brown last week in Indy he went off last night for 10 catches, 144 yards, and 3 touchdowns. They played well on defense as well though, really putting together their most complete game of the year. They picked off Marcus Mariota Four times and sacked him Five times. Really harassing him all night, never letting him get to comfortable. When the Steelers can get play like this from their defense they are going to be a tough out.

That being said, as impressive as last nights win was, I still don’t believe in the Steelers. I don’t think the Steelers will be able to stop Brady, who has always had their number. The Patriots always make life tough on Antonio Brown, and that forces Ben to use his other weapons, which he doesn’t want to do so the Steelers always seem to struggle scoring touchdowns against the Pats. We all know kicking field goals against the Patriots just isn’t going to cut it.

So, No, the Steelers are not the biggest threat to the Patriots returning to a Third Super Bowl in Four seasons. That team is located in the AFC West. Like I said right after they came in here and rolled us week one, the Kansas City Chiefs should be the Patriots biggest concern. The Chiefs have beat the Patriots easily in two regular season matchups with the Pats taking a playoff game sandwiched in the middle. The Pats always struggle with them and if I was the Patriots the Chiefs not the Steelers I would want to avoid at all costs.
