Devin McCourty is BACK with the Patriots!
I wrote the other day about how Matthew Slater was coming back to the Patriots in 2020. Now, I’m excited to announce that Devin McCourty is ALSO back in the fold for the Patriots in 2020.
The #Patriots are giving safety and team leader Devin McCourty a 2-year deal worth $23M, sources say. He gets $17M guaranteed – keeping him in New England for his career and allowing him to play with his brother again.

Listen, this isn’t Tom Brady, I understand. But, this is another move to help solidify the defense for the Patriots in 2020. Keep in mind, McCourty had a September of 2019 where he could have been the Defensive Player of the Month. Don’t take this lightly, McCourty is a crucial part of this defense. I mean, let’s just look at the highlights.

So now, we have D-Mac and J-Mac both back in the fold. Slater is back. Joe Thuney is back in the fold (for now?) at left guard. We’re just missing something. Could it be a quarterback with the number 12 on his back? Stay tuned for that later on in this free agency period.
