Darren Rovell challenges Barstool Sports’ PFT Commenter
For the thousands in attendance and the millions reading at home, let’s get ready to rumble! On Tuesday night, The Action Network’s Darren Rovell took to Twitter and issued a challenge. The former ESPN analyst challenged Barstool Sports PFT Commenter to box for $2 million dollars.
For $2 million, I will fight @PFTCommenter.
— Darren Rovell (@darrenrovell) February 10, 2021
The challenge comes on the heels of the Barstool Sports “Rough N’ Rowdy” this past Friday. Former baseball slugger Jose Canseco got the bag following the PPV, earning over $1 million dollars.
Rovell who is no stranger from taking shots at Barstool Sports said he would fight PFT Commenter for $2 million dollars.
I humbely accept https://t.co/1vbctjkRf3
— PFTCommenter (@PFTCommenter) February 10, 2021
PFT Commenter responded by accepting the challenge. The Barstool personality doesn’t want any money in return if he wins. PFT Commenter wants Rovell to delete his Twitter account, forever. There will be masses of Stoolies and Twitter followers alike who’d like the sound of that.
Rovell vs. Barstool Sports
This isn’t the first time that Rovell traded jabs with a personality from Barstool. Rovell recently stirred up controversy on Twitter regarding the creation of the Barstool Fund.
Portnoy decided to get the sparring started by tweeting at Rovell on Christmas Day. He would tweet at Rovell in an effort to get the Twitter personality to donate money to the new fundraiser.
Hey @darrenrovell I heard you are unbelievably cheap. You cover business. Seems like a good time to prove people wrong. #barstoolfund https://t.co/lk6jxtzw21
— Dave Portnoy (@stoolpresidente) December 25, 2020
The response Portnoy would get from Rovell wasn’t what was expected. “I give my charitable time and money to mental health. I appreciate what you’ve done. It’s commendable. Shaming people into donating is next level, but expected,” Rovell tweeted.
The two would trade insults back and forth before Rovell finally donated $369.69 to the Barstool Fund.
Rovell vs. Johnny Football
The sports world is no stranger to getting into a beef with Rovell. Besides Barstool Sports he has famous feud with former Cleveland Browns quarterback Johnny Manziel.
Rovell took to his Twitter soapbox and tweet about a Sports illustrated cover that featured Alex Rodriguez and Manziel. He would take a jab at Manziel over an Instagram video of him jumping off a cliff.
Seven years later and you’re still as big of a bitch as ever https://t.co/fWXv2u8wzj
— Johnny Manziel (@JManziel2) August 5, 2020
Manziel would slap back with a tweet defending against the claim he was fading into irrelevance.
PFT-KO?
This might be the most anticipated potential fight in the history of Barstool Sports and Rough N’ Rowdy. Each time one of these events happen, a brand new hype train gets ready to leave the station. Rovell is a hatable heel and PFT Commenter is a personality Stoolies will rally around.
Will PFT deliver a PFT-KO and knock Rovell to the canvas? Stoolies will be anticipating the hype on Pardon My Take where Big Cat and PFT Commenter will go over the potential future scrum.
PFT in a knockout, easy. (as long as Rovell doesn’t run around the ring, need that clause in there( https://t.co/B1jItnADWh
