College Football Week 6 Safe Bets
Another week of football, another chance to make some money. Where should you put your money this week?
Iowa(+3.5) At Michigan
What has Michigan done this year to be favored in this game? Beat up on Rutgers. Cool. The fact of the matter is that Michigan hasn’t lived up to its billing with its new open offense. Shea Patterson is struggling with turnovers. Iowa, on the other hand, is a steady team with a great defense. Michigan being at home will help them early, but one or two turnovers and the Wolverines fan base will turn on their own quickly. They’re fed up. Iowa runs the balls and stops the run to win outright.
The Pick: Iowa beats the spread
Ok State(-10) At Texas Tech
Chubba Hubbard is going to have a field day. The Cowboys (grossly)underrated running back leads the nation in rushing and he’s going to tear through a Red Raider defense that got lit up by OU a week ago. To their credit, they have been exponentially better on defense this year compared to last, but their offense has taken a step back. Tech is also still without starting quarterback Alan Bowman.
The Pick: Ok State covers
Tulsa At SMU(-13)
I’ve been riding SMU all year and have been loving it. There’s a momentum un Dallas right now that hasn’t been felt since the death penalty nearly killed the program. SMU is scoring at a high clip (44.4ppg) and has been doing it with a balanced offense. Tulsa has sputtered a bit on offense this year averaging just over 21 ppg this year. SMU will roll easily in this one in front of a lively crowd at Gerald J. Ford Stadium.
