College Football Week 4 Recap and Your Guide to Week 5

College football continues to be a thrill ride this year. We have some teams that are making a case for a playoff spot early on in the season. Each week there has been an eye opening performance by a different team and week 4 it happened again. Lets take a look at the two teams that are really coming in hot after last week.

TCU 44 Oklahoma State 31

#16 TCU got it done against #6 Oklahoma State. They hung around the whole game and ended up getting the win. The real difference in this game was TCU’s running back Darius Anderson. He ran for 160 yards and 3 touchdowns. Keep your eye on TCU as they now become the 2nd best team in the BIG 12 behind Oklahoma.

Georgia 31 Mississippi State 3

Everyone in the SEC was keeping their eye on this one after Mississippi State upset LSU a few weeks ago. This time it was a different story for #17 Mississippi State as #11 Georgia just absolutely dominated on defense. Mississippi State’s offense was invisible the entire game. Georgia just looked like they wanted it more. I’m glad Georgia won because I am really tired of having to type Mississippi. Keep your eye on Georgia, they could challenge Alabama. It’s still early but it will be interesting to see if they can keep it up.

What Games to Watch in Week 5

Nick’s Record of Predictions 4-7

#5 USC @ #16 Washington State 10:30pm ESPN 9/29

I like this one. We got some Friday night lights action. These two teams have had a lot of hype so far this season but let me tell you this. Washington State is crap. They have not beaten any good team all year. A&M has a better case to be ranked then they do. USC should dominate this game. If they don’t then that is just flat out embarrassing for them. I’m taking USC by a million in this one. USC 49 Washington State 17

#2 Clemson @ #12 Virginia Tech 8:00pm ABC 9/30

If there is one game to watch this week in college football this week, its this one. If you have any interest in football or sports or athletic people you need to watch this game this week. Both teams have looked really solid so far this season. In my personal opinion Clemson has played better. Last year Clemson got the win by a touchdown but they also had Deshaun Watson in that game and he accounted for 5 touchdowns. I’m a big fan of home field advantage in college football. I think the crowd has a huge factor. The tough part about picking Virginia Tech in this game is that they have a freshman QB going against the defending national champions. Josh Jackson has played great for the Hokies. He has thrown for about 1,200 yards, 11 touchdowns and only 1 interception. Ultimately my gut is telling me to take Clemson. So that is what I’m going to do. I can’t wait to watch this one. Clemson 35 Virginia Tech 24

Nick’s Bonus A&M Take

Big win for my Aggies last week against Arkansas in OT. Overall they still are not where they need to be. Both sides of the ball need work but that’s understandable when you have 18yr old freshmen playing. A&M has South Carolina at home this week and they are favored to win. If they do then they will be 4-1 going into next week when they host Alabama. For your sake you better hope that A&M doesn’t beat Bama because this will then turn into an A&M only blog.
