CFP National Championship Preview

The College Football Playoff National Championship game is on Monday and we have a rematch of the SEC Championship battle. The SEC Championship matchup that turned into the College Football Playoff National Championship matchup is between Georgia and Alabama. Alabama has been to the College Football Playoff national Championship game five times and has won three of them. Georgia has been to the College Football Playoff National Championship game once and lost in overtime in that one. This bout has a chance to be won of the best CFP National title games that we have seen yet. However, could we see more of the same like we saw in the SEC Championship game. Well with that being said here is my CFP National Championship preview.

Georgia 

The Georgia Bulldogs are coming off of a 34-11 win at the Orange Bowl against Michigan. Georgia’s offense wasn’t astounding by any means, but they got the job done. Stetson Bennett threw for 300 yards and 3 touchdowns, but the running game struggled from start to finish. Zamir White only had 54 rushing yards which led the team. They are going to need to be not so one dimensional against this Crimson Tide defense. The highlight of the Orange Bowl was how great the Bulldog defense looked. Georgia’s run defense contained Hassan Haskins which has been one of the better running backs in the country. If Georgia’s rush defense can play up to that level they can contain this Alabama offense.

In the SEC title game, this Georgia defense let Bryce Young throw for 421 passing yards and three touchdowns. Georgia is going to need to keep Alabama’s offense off the field in order to win this one. Alabama had a big second quarter and it threw off any sort of momentum that the Bulldogs were having. Stetson Bennett is going to need to be a difference maker in this one if Georgia wants to win the National Championship for the first time since the 1980.

Alabama

The Crimson Tide will look to continue their great stretches of games in the CFP National title game. Alabama won 27-6 in the Cotton Bowl against Cincinnati. Young had three passing touchdowns in that game, but Brian Robinson carried the offense on his back. He had just under 200 rushing yards and averaged just under 8 yards per carry. Now the Crimson Tide will face Georgia’s offense that likes to try and hit on the big plays. If they can keep them on their toes and not allow that offense to capitalize on the big plays. Make Georgia have to drive down the field and score on you. Offensively, the Tide just need to keep doing what they are doing and that’s let Bryce Young cook. Future is bright for this kid, but he needs to deliver a National title to the Alabama faithful.

Also a big thing is that in this matchup, the Crimson Tide won’t have their star receiver John Metchie. So how will Georgia’s defense defend Jameson Williams. Also which one of the Alabama recievers is going to step up in the National title game. Will it be Ja’Corey Brooks, or Slade Bolden? We will have to wait and see come Monday night.

Prediction:

Georgia is a 3 point favorite with the over/under set at 52.5. I do not have any leans, because I have three plays for this game. All will hit and I will officially become Mr. 65 percent. Those three plays are as followed, Alabama +3, Alabama ML, Over 52.5. This is going to be an easy triple winner. Where the line is set, would have hit in six out of the seven previous CFP National title games. Alabama is going to roll again in this one take them with the points and on the money line in this one. See you Tuesday morning when I officially crown myself Mr. 65 Percent
