CFB PAC 12 Predictions: Is It Oregon’s Conference To Lose?

With the Pac 12 finally being back, it is safe to say now is a good time to take a look at who has the best chance to win the Pac 12 this season. I am going to give you the betting odds on the Pac 12 title winner. We will give who we think is going to win the Pac 12, the best value to win the Pac 12, and the long shot that I like to win the Pac 12.

Pac 12 Odds:

Oregon Ducks +200

USC Trojans +200

Washington Huskies +400

Utah Utes +700

Arizona State +1200

Stanford +1800

Washington State +2000

California +2500

UCLA +2500

Arizona +3300

Oregon State +6600

Colorado +10000

Pac 12 Winner:

Oregon Ducks +200

I think the Oregon Ducks are going to win the Pac 12 this season. They are trying to replace Justin Herbert’s production with sophomore Tyler Shough, which isn’t a good thing to see. I do like what Mario Cristobal has though for the 2020 season. They bring back their two time thousand yard rusher in junior CJ Verdell, and they have some talent at wide out (Mycah Pittman, Jaylon Redd, Johnny Johnson III).

There are two question marks when it comes to this Oregon team this year. Those two questions are how good will Shough be, and how good will their secondary be. I think Shough will be good enough to help this team win the Pac 12 this season. They also need to make sure that their offensive line holds up their end to make Shough’s life easy. If the Oregon Ducks defense can perform the way I think they can this team will easily win 5 out of their six games that they play.

Best Value:

Arizona State +1200

I am high on Herm Edward’s squad this season as I see big improvements incoming from a season ago. One of the bigger improvements is going to be the play of sophomore quarterback Jayden Daniels. They will need to get one of their freshman running backs going early on in the season to help take some of the load off of Daniels’ shoulders. The Sun Devils will have to have somebody step up to help Arizona State’s loss of Eno Benjamin and Brandon Aiyuk. Jayden Daniels could very well be the best quarterback in the Pac 12.

Arizona State has new co-defensive coordinators in Marvin Lewis and Antonio Pierce that will have one of the best defenses in the Pac 12 this season. The Sun Devils secondary is very good and very upper classman heavy. With their big test coming in their first game being USC, after that game the Sun Devils will easily coast through the Pac 12 South. I think Jayden Daniels helps this team finish 5-1, and winning the Pac 12 South Title is a lock in my opinion. I love the Sun Devils here at +1200 and this is my best value pick to win the Pac 12.

Long Shot:

UCLA +2500

This is a crucial year for Chip Kelly in his potential success at UCLA. I see Dorian Thompson-Robinson taking a big step forward this season for the Bruins. This UCLA team can compete in the Pac 12 South and I can’t wait to see them play this year. As my long shot I think that there are no major weaknesses on this roster, and that is why I am looking at +2500 on the Bruins.

The Bruins have some talent on offense in Demetric Felton, Chase Cota, Jaylen Erwin etc., and on defense the Bruins are only starting two under classmen. Nine out of eleven of their defensive starters are either juniors, seniors, or graduates. Don’t get me wrong I think there are better teams in the Pac 12, but I wouldn’t be surprised if the take over the Pac 12 South this season and compete for the Pac 12 title.

Pac 12 Record Predictions:

1.) Oregon Ducks (5-1)

2.) California Golden Bears (4-2)

3.) Stanford Cardinal (4-2)

4.) Washington (3-3)

5.) Oregon State (2-4)

6.) Washington State (0-6)

1.) Arizona State (5-1)

2.) USC (4-2)

3.) UCLA (4-2)

4.) Utah (3-3)

5.) Colorado (1-5)

6.) Arizona (1-5)
