The Boston Celtics have swept the 76ers and are moving on to the second round. I thought we would’ve seen a gentleman sweep, but the Cs handled business and closed it up quickly. I don’t think anyone was surprised by this outcome. Even Philly fans. I’d like to discuss the Philadelphia 76ers.
What Happened to the 76ers?
Boston beats Philadelphia in Game 4 to sweep the first-round series, and changes are coming for the Sixers. Brett Brown is without internal momentum to return for his eighth season as coach, and a final decision could come soon, sources tell ESPN.

At the beginning of 2020 the 76ers really started to take a turn for the worse. They collectively just started playing bad. Expectations were the Eastern Conference, but come the midway point of the season; they were 10.5 games behind. Barstool’s PFT had a great take on his podcast today; the 76ers thought they were closer than they were to winning a championship. They spent so much money on Horford and Harris which prevented them from help from the bench. They were trying to fit the circle puzzle piece into the square slot. Honestly, the opposite of trusting the process. Obviously, Ben Simmons being out hurt the Philly in a big way. Simmons runs the offense and is a monster on defense but even with him playing I still don’t know if this Sixers team had enough to win. I don’t know what is going to happen going forward but some big changes need to happen. I think the Embiid/Simmons era may have to come to an end.

As I’m writing this, I get the Bleacher Notification that Brett Brown has been fired. Talk about perfect timing! I think more changes will happen too. I also saw that Brett Brown didn’t like confrontation. Which I mean come on, this is a business first off and a bunch of egos and prideful men. Confrontation happens. Rumors are they are looking at Ty Lue, but we’ll see.
Series versus the Toronto Raptors
This tweet had me dying, but it honestly speaks a lot of truths. I’m not worried about the Toronto Raptors. Coming off a championship season after losing Kawhi, the main piece of that team. I don’t know; they just don’t seem threatening to me. Kyle Lowry is out also, so that helps the Celtics cause, but the Cs are buzzing. Kemba all season has said it’s the Jays’ team, but people forget this man is a KILLER! He is so good, and we were worried about the knee, but the coaching staff’s gameplan worked to perfection. *Chef’s Kiss* He was stopping on a dime, switching directions, pulling up, and he is used to taking over a game. This man has been playing by himself in Charolette for years! You add him along with Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown, scary. Three dominant forces that can go out and get theirs. I can’t wait to watch more of this team, and I don’t think we’re even close to the ceiling.
