Carmelo Anthony Will Be On The Move Soon
Carmelo Anthony’s people are trying a Hail Mary attempt to get him to Houston (Knicks won’t do it) … before he accepts a deal to Portland

This story feels like it’s been dragging on forever, hasn’t it? Melo was supposed to be traded like 50 times already, but now we might actually be close. His preferred destination has been Houston, but it appears he will be accepting a deal that would send him to Portland. That is if a deal with the Rockets ultimately falls through, which all signs are pointing towards right now.
Other than Houston, Portland has been one of the most likely landing spots for Anthony. Damian Lillard and CJ McCollum have been recruiting him all summer, so I’m not shocked that he might end up here.
I don’t think they’ll be that much better with Melo, considering the gauntlet that is the Western Conference. Adding another 20 point scorer helps any team, but will it really help Portland enough for it to be worth it? I would bet on Golden State, San Antonio, OKC, Houston, and even Minnesota beating them in a playoff series. The package they’d have to give up to obtain Anthony is uncertain right now, but my guess is that it’s pretty hefty. Why else wouldn’t New York just send him to Houston? I don’t think the Rockets can put together a package that satisfies the Knicks, which means the price has to be somewhat steep. Is a price tag that high really worth it for the Blazers? They probably won’t even make it out of the first round, with or without Melo. Let me know what you think in the comments.
