Buy Or Sell?
With that stock market doing what it is doing right now, I figured this would be the best time to talk about College Basketball stocks. We are six Sunday’s away from selection Sunday. Now is the best time to start looking at who to buy into, and who to sell on. Three teams will be talked about today two teams from the Big 12, and one from the ACC. With that being said here are my buy or sell stocks in college basketball this week.
Oklahoma Sooners
The Oklahoma Sooners might be one of the hottest teams in basketball right now. In their last three games they have played teams in the top ten and have won all three of those games. Beating teams like Kansas, Texas, and Alabama is an impressive streak for the Sooners. Right now the Sooners sit at 11-4 and currently sit second in the Big 12 at the moment. Oklahoma has a couple of tough games coming up in the first ten days of February. The Sooners have to go to Texas Tech tomorrow and they host Baylor at home on the 10th.
Oklahoma is being led by seniors Austin Reaves, Brady Manek and sophomore De’Vion Harmon as well. This is a team that could very well make some noise in March and I wouldn’t want to play Oklahoma anytime soon. Look out for the Sooners as they could easily be a team to be a threat in march.
Conclusion: Buy
Kansas Jayhawks
The Kansas Jayhawks might be the most infuriating team in all of college basketball. Kansas’s inconsistencies as of late has really put a damper on their stock right now. Losing four out of their last five is not ideal for Kansas right now. We might see for the first time since 2003-2004 a single team that isn’t Kansas have sole possession of the Big 12 regular season title. Yes I know that Kansas State and Texas Tech shared the title in 2018-2019, but no team has single handedly held it that is not Kansas since Oklahoma State did it in 2003-2004.
This team had some potential at the beginning of the season, but this might be one of those Bill Self teams that has vastly underachieved. Kansas’ schedule coming up isn’t the greatest for the Jayhawks either. Besides their game against Kansas State, the Jayhawks have to go to West Virginia next weekend and have to take on Oklahoma State again. The stock for Kansas is trending down as of late and it could very well continue in the month of February.
Conclusion: Sell
Florida State Seminoles
The Florida State Seminoles are one of those teams that you are exciting to watch whenever they are on your television screen. They took a tough loss yesterday at Georiga Tech, but this team is still a force to be reckoned with. This team has an interesting schedule coming up including a game at Virginia Tech. That game will have ACC title implications in it and with the way both teams have looked this season it will be a very good game.
Florida State is led by their dynamic duo of senior guard M.J. Walker and freshman Scottie Barnes. At the beginning of the year I really liked this team and they have performed incredible so far. Sitting at a 10-3 record overall and a 6-3 record in ACC play this team is in good shape. We are looking to see Leonard Hamilton take this team very far into the tournament this season. The stock is high on Florida State at the moment, what should you do with it?
Conclusion: Buy
