Broncos at Browns TNF: Fantasy Football Preview!

For some people, this is a snoozer for Thursday night Football action. For me, its Broncos at Browns and an opportunity for a potential showdown between two teams with a chip on their shoulders. Week seven of the NFL schedule is here and it starts with a matchup between these two. Allow me to share who you need to start, need to monitor and who you should consider avoiding from the starting roster this week.

Must Start: Broncos at Browns!

Teddy Bridgewater – Denver Broncos QB

While it is questionable whether Bridgewater will start or not, this is a QB you should be considering to start. Even with the foot injury he picked up last week, Bridgewater was reliable for Denver and had a performance against a strong Las Vegas Raiders team. In week six, Bridgewater threw for 330 yards, 3 TD’s. Yes, he had three interceptions and a fumble. However, with a Cleveland secondary that has been copious in recent weeks giving up passer points, Bridgewater is likely to start and thrive this week.

Consider Avoiding…

Broncos and Browns Defense

Thursday night football between these two teams do not offer much in terms of defensive options to roster fantasy football wise.

For Denver, while they have the talent and players that can disrupt the game at all levels, this defense has under performed. Yeah, Denver might be able to shut down the running game and threat that D’Ernest Johnson or Demetric Felton may pose. However, they are going against a QB in Case Keenum who will look to change his targets often and quickly as he’ll want to prove he can fill in while Baker is out.

Meanwhile for Cleveland, this is a roster pestered with injuries. The pass rushing game remains strong with Myles Garrett and Jadeveon Clowney largely in charge. However, its been a defense that has given plenty of passing yards lately and for fantasy football purposes, this is simply not an immediate option to roster.

Worth Monitoring!

Tim Patrick – Denver Broncos WR.

Tim Patrick has been seriously underrated this year and maybe even a forgotten factor in my opinion. For those of you forgetting him, please kindly reconsider.

Simply, look at Patrick’s stats so far this season. Out of 35 targets, 24 catches! 74% average catching, averaging 57 yards or so through six games and 3TD’s thus far. Averaging 13 fantasy football points, in leagues where consistency and a valuable flex option is needed, this is your guy! Coming into a week seven match against an offense trending in the wrong direction and allowing passing yards, he could very well have another productive week much like he did against Pittsburgh in week five.

On that matchup, Tim Patrick went off for 7-out-9 targets, 89 yards and no TD’s but yet 16 points in Fantasy football!
