Brian Flores has the Dolphins Headed in the Right Direction

Last night, the Miami Dolphins put a whooping on the Jacksonville Jaguars, beating them by a final score of 31-13. The win gives Miami its first of the young season, while it dropped the Jags to 1-2.

The Dolphins looked head and shoulders above Jacksonville last night. That is a testament to the coaching job head man Brian Flores has done.

When Flores was hired, some (myself included) kind of laughed it off. There have been way too many coaches from Bill Belichick’s “coaching tree” that have failed for me to buy into the idea of Flores as head coach. Just look at Matt Patricia in Detroit right now: talk about a hot seat. But Flores is no Patricia, proving me and many others wrong.

Last season it was widely considered that the Miami Dolphins had the least talented roster in all of football. It was hard to argue when their leading rusher was Ryan Fitzpatrick, and they had the last ranked defense in the NFL.

But despite that fact, Flores was able to lead the Dolphins to a 5-11 record. That is even more impressive considering they started off as worse as they did (a 59-10 loss to the Baltimore Ravens at home).

Now I’m not saying that because the Dolphins beat the Jaguars last night Miami is going to win the Super Bowl, but they are definitely headed in the right direction. They have a head coach who knows what he is doing, and hopefully a franchise quarterback in this years first round pick Tua Tagovailoa. So watch out because the Dolphins could be swimming towards the playoffs sooner rather than later.
