Watt has announced via twitter that he is signing with the Arizona Cardinals. His sources are himself and that is all we need. This is a huge get for the Arizona Cardinals in my opinion. Solidifying that front seven for that stacked NFC West Division looks like a great move by Arizona. The Cardinals absolutely came out of no where and this is a huge move for both sides.
J.J. Watt, Corey Peters, Jordan Philips, and Chandler Jones. Oh boy what a front four that is for Arizona. The Cardinals gave up over 2000 yards on the ground a season ago, that will drastically change this season with the acquisition of Watt. Even though Watt is 31 years old. he still has a lot left in the tank
Cardinals are giving J.J. Watt a two-year, $31 million deal that includes $23 million guaranteed, per source.

A two year deal for Watt is the most ideal deal between both sides. Watt will become a free agent at the age of 33 and can get his final contract before he hangs up the cleats. You have to think that DeAndre Hopkins had a big part in the reasoning for Watt to go to Arizona. Nobody expected the Cardinals to get J.J. Watt, not even the Cardinals did.

Final Thoughts:Â
I think this was a huge win for the Arizona Cardinals. They desperately needed a defensive end and getting a 5 time Pro-Bowler and a 3 time AP Defensive Player of the Year is a huge get. Arizona’s defense just got a lot better, as their secondary was already scary and now opposing teams have to go up against J.J. Watt and Chandler Jones on the outside. That isn’t ideal for teams that are going to be playing the Cardinals next season. If the development of Kyler Murray comes into fruition this team is not only a playoff contender, but a Super Bowl contender.
