Football season got going this weekend and Patriots hysteria has already sent the NFL into a frenzy. What a first week for the league. The football was actually solid for the most part unless you’re a Browns fan, and the drama was all over the map. And the obvious headline story? Antonio Brown shooting his way out of Oakland and landing with Bill Belichick and the New England Patriots.

Last night the Patriots opened up their season by dropping banner number six with Pittsburgh in town and they were electric as all hell. Josh Gordon still–shocker–looks like the same Josh Gordon who can dominate opposing defensive backs with relative ease. Julian Edelman and Tom Brady are still one of the most in-sync duos this league has ever seen and Tom Brady looks like he’s still MILES away from that infamous Max Kellerman cliff.
The Patriots smacked the Steelers 33-3 and looked damn good doing it all the way around. Their defense looked dominant and the offense again was smooth as can be.
And boy, the Patriots add Antonio Brown into the mix next week when they head to Florida to take on a Miami Dolphins team that is reportedly already having multiple players requesting trades.
Ben Roethlisberger looked like a defeated and beaten man in his post-game presser following Sunday Night Football and when he was asked about Antonio Brown joining the Evil Empire, his one-word response spoke VOLUMES.
Big Ben’s thoughts on the Patriots adding Antonio Brown!

Big Ben wanted nothing to do with that question or that press conference. In no way shape or form did he want to look at or speak with anyone. And to rub salt in the wound, he’s got these reporters asking about his feelings toward his former star target joining forces with a team who looked like they could beat anyone last night relatively easily.
What an opening night for the Patriots. They got the Steelers out of the way early. And remember, this is a team who last year, beat them when they went out to Pittsburgh. Remember that massive interception that Tom Brady basically gifted to them that they talked about for the entire following week? Ah, the memories.
I wouldn’t be shocked if there’s a major personnel change there in the next few weeks if they drop another game early in the season. I’m looking at you, Mike Tomlin.
