Yesterday, the golf world saw one of the better finishes in the Pebble Beach Pro-Am. For starters, congratulations to Danny Berger for an eagle on 18 to give him the victory over Maverick NcNealy. But the real story was the absolute meltdown Nate Lashley had on 16. When he was tied for the lead at 16, he four putted to give himself a triple bogey.

Looking at the first putt he had for par, you could see he wanted nothing to do with it. He absolutely rifled that thing. Then the second putt he was like “oh man now I’m shaking and better hit this.” Oh but was he wrong and rifles another one. You could see once again that he wanted nothing to do with this putt or the chance to win a tournament. And finally, once you miss two, you are going to miss three… and then the meltdown began.
He was screaming and throwing shit like he was +3 at a drunk, friendly scramble. But what must have really killed him is losing money in three “easy” putts. He went from the opportunity to win $1.4 mil to winning $300k… I would have taken a chunk out of the green too, Nate. But what golfer hasn’t been there? I was there just a few months ago after playing 3 days a week. I was so happy seeing a PGA pro get the average Joe shakes on the green! We have all been there, Nate.
