Are The Red Sox Getting Hot At The Right Time…Again?
We were all questioning the Red Sox last season around this time. Yeah, they were good. But, were they good enough to win a World Series? Everything came together and we all know what happened next. This season has not been as good as the last one. However, is this Red Sox team getting hot at the right time? Let’s take a look at a few things that might convince you that they very well could be getting hot!
They’ve Won 7 Of Their Last 10
The Red Sox have won 7 of their last 10 games. They swept the Orioles, and then proceeded to get swept in a two game series against the Phillies. They came back with winning four of their next five against the Padres and Rockies. Sure, those teams aren’t the best in the league. But, the Red Sox are taking care of business when they need to the most. Maybe this could be the first sign of a big run in September? Who knows!

David Price returning to the rotation is a HUGE boost for the Red Sox pitching staff. We all know that Chris Sale is done for the season. Think about it though, Price can be the piece the Red Sox need at just the right time. Price has figured how to actually pitch and not just rely on overpowering hitters, like he once did in the past. That was evident in the second half of last season and the whole World Series run. If the Red Sox can get THAT David Price along with Rodriguez and a few others stepping up, it will be a fun September of baseball. The bottom line is that Price can be the missing piece that the Red Sox need to make a run at this second wild card spot.
They Still Play Some Wild Card Teams In Front Of Them
The Red Sox need to take care of business against the teams in front of them. They meet for a three game series with the Minnesota Twins. This being after their three game series this weekend against the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim. They also have a four game series at Tropicana Field against the Rays. Imagine what winning 2 out of 3, 3 out of 4, or sweeping both teams can do for the Red Sox chances? That would be an accomplishment in itself. This team knows they’re good. They just have to find a way to beat the good teams come September.
In Conclusion
The Red Sox could very well be getting hot when we need them to do so. Of course, we all feel like they could be pulling us back into watching them.
