Another Day Gone Without Baseball
Another day has gone without baseball being played. The weather was above 60 degrees, my gym is officially closed, and the sound of a crack of the bat becomes more and more of a distant memory. All this leads me to my next statement, screw the Coronavirus.
At this point, the Red Sox should have just finished up a split-squad game against the Minnesota Twins and preparing to take on the Orioles tomorrow. including tomorrow’s scheduled game, they would have 4 remaining spring training games until the opening day scheduled on the 26th. They are still hoping to have a season at some point but as the days go bye that is looking less and less likely.
The Red Sox aside, I also coach High School baseball and our last day of tryouts should have been today. As someone who looks forward to baseball season to help get through the long New England winters, the potential of not having a High School season is a giant kick in the balls. I’m still holding out hope that this dies down and we can all get back to our normal lives again. If that does not happen? Well, it is going to be a very long and interesting spring and summer months. I need baseball back in my life so, please wash your damn hands’ people and for god sakes for once listen to the government and stay the hell in your homes!
