And The Boston Celtics Select… Part 2

Last week I wrote about who I would love to see the Celtics select with their 14th pick in this upcoming draft. Today I would like to add on to that, by looking at the 20th pick and beyond. The Celtics have a slew of picks that fans can be excited about.

One scenario that could happen is the team trading up. Having the 14th and 20th picks are intriguing. I bet Danny Ainge is calling every team in the top 10, trying his hardest to get a deal done. He’d most likely have to throw a player in there to get something to work.

With Irving and Terry most likely on their way out of Boston, The Celtics will need a Point Guard. The problem is that there’s not a ton of talent at that position in this draft. The C’s need a guard that’s more of a playmaker, not a scorer. What if I can find you a player that can do both? You probably have not heard of this guy, but Jordan Bone should be on the Celtics radar. Bone is Junior PG out of Tennessee, and man is he talented. The best thing is, the Celtics can use their 20th pick to select Bone since he isn’t projected to get draft until the mid-second round. If possible, they may be even able to snag him at with their 50th pick which would be a steal. Here is some tape of him at the draft combine.

Bone has improved his passing numbers every season and scored an impressive 13 ppg on a loaded Tennesee team. This kid is a young raw talent that has a high motor willing to do what it takes to win. Like I said, the Celtics won’t be looking at Bone with their 14 pick, but should keep him mine with the 20th or second round pick.
