NLCS Preview: Brewers vs. Dodgers

The NLCS matchup between the Brewers and Dodgers isn’t getting enough press. This is not the sexy matchup everyone wanted to see at the start of the season. Who would have guessed that the Brewers would be playing for a chance to be in the World Series? Seriously I doubt anyone picked them. With powerhouse teams such as the Cubs, Nationals, and Diamondbacks, I would have never thought of the Brewers being in this spot.

The crazy thing is, the Brew Crew actually have a real shot at taking down the all mighty Dodgers. They are currently riding an 11 game winning streak dating back to the regular season. The Brewers pitching staff shut down the Rockies potent line up in the NLDS. Out of the three games played, the Rockies only scored two runs and 14 hits. Christian Yelich (Possible MVP), Travis Shaw and Ryan Braun all hitting well. Look for them to make big impacts this series. Josh Hader, Jeremy Jeffress, Corey Knebel and Jokim Soria will lead the charge in one of the best bullpens in the league.

I really just hyped up the Brewers, but the Dodgers are a tough out. They have the better lineup and have the edge in starting pitching. Kershaw is almost untouchable but can he perform in clutch situations?   Yasiel Puig has already stated that the Dodgers will win the series in 4 games. Puig drove Atlanta’s pitchers mad in the NLDS. Justin Turner, Manny Machado, and Muncy are all capable of doing damage in big games.

When it’s all said and done, the Dodgers will win this series in 6. Kershaw will silence the Brewers in his two starts and their lineup will somehow get the job done against the tough pitching of the Brewers.
