It was just announced yesterday that Antonio Brown will be on the cover of this years Madden. The hall of fame edition was already announced that Terrell Owens would be on the cover. I was getting a little worried he would be the only cover athlete we had this year. I am not a fan of him on the cover because of the way he has acted toward his hall of fame enshrinement. He does not deserve that cover, and I can live with AB as the cover athlete.
There have been a few other people I was expecting to get a shot at the cover. Cam Newton, Todd Gurley, Carson Wentz, maybe even DeAndre Hopkins. AB is a good fit though. He is a flashy player but not player that is crazy in the media. He is also considered the best receiver in the league as well. Madden has really been getting it together with their cover athletes. They took some shots on one hit wonders and the curse seemed to ruin their careers right after.
If I’m a Steelers fan, I’m very nervous. The curse seems to have slowed down, but it is still very alive. If they had picked Le’veon Bell, he already has an injury history so it would be a little less worrisome. AB has been relatively healthy throughout his career, so for him to get hurt would be pretty catastrophic. Fantasy owners beware of the curse to hit Antonio this season, and Steelers fans, sleep with your lucky horseshoe close by.
