2021 American League Central Predictions

I have done both the AL East and NL Central predictions so far. Pat has done the NL East, NL Central, NL West, and AL West as well. We are getting closer and closer to Opening Day everyday! The AL Central is loaded with talent and will be a great race. The White Sox added a lot of talent, the Twins won the division the last 2 seasons, and the Royals had a stinky good offseason. I am going to give records based on 162 games.

1. Chicago White Sox 99-63

The White Sox added Lance Lynn and Liam Hendriks to an already very good pitching staff. Lucas Giolito is going to win a Cy Young in the next 2-3 years, Garrett Crochet is going to be one of the great fireball relievers for years to come. Having the reigning AL MVP helps the offense, but I do not think José Abreu will be the best hitter in the lineup. Luis Robert is going to win more than 1 MVPs in his career. The White Sox could mess around and win a World Series in 2021.

2. Minnesota Twins 90-72

The Twins have one of the best offenses in all of baseball. Josh Donaldson and Nelson Cruz are still 2 of the better hitters in the game. Kenta Maeda was a top 3 Cy Young finisher in 2020. I just think the White Sox are too good not to give them the division. But the Twins will make it in the Wild Card.

3. Kansas City Royals 85-77

One of my surprise picks is the Royals jumping the Indians in the AL Central. Bobby Witt Jr is another young talent that will make the Central so much fun. Andrew Benintendi needed a new start and he got it. The Royals are going to get better soon again and have a chance to win a lot of games in 2021.

4. Cleveland Indians 84-78

The Indians have a great pitching staff, but losing Francisco Lindor really hurts. The offense will be missing one of the best shortstops in the game. The Indians window to win is closing really fast. They made it to the World Series in 2016, but have not made it far since. They will take a step back this season.

5. Detroit Tigers 70-92

The Tigers have a ton of talent coming up in the next couple years. Casey Mize is going to be an ace for years to come. Spencer Torkelson is going to be a great hitter once he comes up. But the Tigers are not close yet. They will be good in a couple years, just not in 2021.

Wrap Up

The AL Central is going to be one of the best divisions for years to come. I love how much young talent there is and will be here. This will be a fun one. The White Sox will be a really good team for a long time. We have a big time guest coming on Legends Lingo tonight. Check it out!
