Yellow Card Podcast Episode 38

We’ve reached the start of a new week, which means it is time for the newest episode of the Yellow Card Podcast! We are currently in an interesting period in the soccer calendar. Most domestic leagues have ended, and national teams are gearing up for summer tournaments. As a result, we had tons to talk about in this episode!

Topics

The crew kicked things off this week by taking a look at the upcoming UEFA European Championship. The tournament begins on Friday with a match between Italy and Wales. The guys took a look at the composition of each of the tournaments six groups. Diego, Andrew and Chris each identified a few teams they considered to be favorites. We also talked about dark horse teams and underdogs as well.

Next up, the YCP trio turned their attention to CONMEBOL. The South American conference is currently busy with World Cup qualifiers, but the Copa America is just around the corner. Our crew agreed that Brazil are the current heavyweights of the region. However, teams like Argentina and Colombia have enough talent to make things interesting if they can find their best form.

Lastly, the hosts took a look at the rollercoaster that is the Summer Transfer Window. Days before the window has official opened in England, we’ve already had a number of players and managers who have found new homes. We are all anticipating some major stories this window as teams all over look to improve ahead of next season. Will big names like Jadon Sancho, Erling Haaland and Harry Kane be on the move? Only time will tell.
