WWE In Turmoil?

As sports continue to make their way back into some normalcy after COVID-19, WWE is doing so as well.

In fact, WWE never actually stopped at all! Most athletes are still active and matches are still taking place, just no audience of course and no change in venues as they stay at the Performance Center in Orlando.

However, the story lines as of late are a bit ugly and in most case scenarios, they have actually just been straight up boring!

I watched last night’s weekly Monday Night Raw episode and let me tell you, I have been a fan of the WWE since I was 5 years old, but I have never seen something so odd like what I watched last night. Let’s begin with the return of Shane McMahon back to Raw, sending a loud message of the return of the authority!

Shane’s return was a bit weird and lacking of identity but nevertheless it was a bit intriguing as he looks to introduce a new segment of the weekly episode, called Raw Underground.

Last nights introduction of this was actually really cool and it was a bit old style! Just hope it is potential for new talents for the WWE.

The one thing I did like watching last night though was watching not only the reunion of The Riott Squad (Livv Morgan and Ruby Riott), but also watching Samoa Joe stand up to Rollins, setting the wrestling world into a frenzy of hopes for a return of the Samoan to the ring:

Vince McMahon

Vince has been MIA on the WWE honestly for quite a bit now.

While the story lines in the whole WWE concept continue, they are really losing grip and identity and in some sense a bit of interest. Could it be time to maybe give the reigns over to someone like Shane or even maybe Stephanie?

I personally would rather give the WWE to someone like the Undertaker to run it, someone iconic and not afraid to bring new story lines into perspective! I mean seriously, just last night the story lines for the episode were straight up horrible!!!

Now, the question really is if maybe this is what is soon to happen? As it is, Vince ended up selling the XFL as it failed on itself, and its failure was made 10x worse by COVID-19’s impact.

Summer-Slam 2020.

I am curious to see how this event will even go on and what it may be.

So far, the story lines are ok but would like to see some intensity build up to Summer Slam. One of the main story lines is Dominik Mysterio, Rey’s son seeking revenge on Seth Rollins for what was a gruesome match (eye for an eye).

Here is a list of matches for Summer Slam 2020 so far:

  • WWE Championship: Drew McIntyre vs. Randy Orton.
  • Universal Championship: Braun Strowman vs. Bray “The Fiend” Wyatt.
  • Matt Riddle vs. King Corbin.
  • Raw Women’s Championship: Sasha Banks vs. Asuka.

In Conclusion…

While there is a lot to speculate about the current status of the WWE, it is clear though that a loss of its own identity is happening and turmoil is as clear as it can be in the company. It may be time for the return of the authority but it may also be time for Vince to hang it up and let someone new walk into a leadership role setting a new legacy for the future of the WWE. Why do I say that? Because, “Thats what’s best for business”
