Would You Sign a COVID-19 Waiver to Watch the NFL this Year?

The possibility of fans attending any sporting event in the near future has seemed to be impossible. Coronavirus has axed the potential of any large gatherings. Still, the NFL may have found a way to get butts into seats: a COVID-19 waiver.

Now, there are still plenty of discussions that need to take place -who knows what this virus even looks like come August- but it is clear the NFL is going to make its best effort to get fans through the turnstiles.

It makes sense for the league because of, well, money, but I do not know if I’d be willing to go to a game where the risks of getting coronavirus are multiplied. Still, I am only one person. I know for a fact that there will be plenty of people lining up at the gates to sign the potential waiver.

I don’t hate going to live games, but if I can watch the game sitting on my couch with a couple of beers that costed me less than $20, while not increasing my chance of getting sick why would I even try to get into a stadium.

The only reason I can really think of is to see the debuts of Joe Burrow, Tampa Bay’s Tom Brady, or New England’s Cam Newton. But at the end of the day, I’d survive if I could only see those on a 50-inch flat screen.

Obviously I wish this didn’t have to be the case, but coronavirus is sticking around. So as much as I’d love to hit up Gillette Stadium, I can’t see myself putting my body at risk if I can still watch games in the comfort of my home with friends and family. What about you?
