Why I Will Always Be Team Isaiah Thomas
What’s good everyone, I am back from vacation and I’m back in the 20 degree weather. After being gone for a week, I need to get caught up on what I missed. I’ll have a Clover Report out tomorrow to recap the London game but today I am focusing on former Celtic Isaiah Thomas. I was down in Aruba when Thomas returned to the Garden and the controversy that surrounded him when he didn’t want to have a video tribute. This has stirred up some anger around some Celtics fans and I just wanted to throw my two cents in a week late. So obviously by the name of the title and the video below, you know where I stand.

Ever since I made that video back in August and ever since IT joined the Cavs, Thomas has still remained my favorite player. I understand why Boston fans are pissed at Thomas because he doesn’t seem to shut up about how hurt he was when he was traded and he been too dramatic. But I don’t see it that way. Look at it from Isaiah’s point of view. Thomas has been counted out his entire career as he was the last pick in the draft and was dumped by his two previous NBA teams. Then he finally comes to Boston where he is finally given a chance and he surpasses everyone’s expectations. He fell in love with the city and the city fell in love with him. Then on the verge on signing a huge contract, the Celtics blindside him and trade him. How would you feel? Betrayed just like Isaiah Thomas. I’m not saying that Thomas could have handled the situation better, but he is a human being and no single human being is perfect. Could he have handled the video tribute better? Yea, but that shouldn’t change your opinion about him as a player and as a man. Luckily, most Celtics fans agreed with me as they did this last week.
