I respectfully disagree. There is just as much passion in the NFL. The difference is all of the players are so good it is harder to stand out. In the NFL, the on the field product is far superior, its not even close. College is about being in one of the Big 5. It is a popularity contest. Some conferences and teams have zero shot even if they go undefeated of even getting in a big bowl game so to claim only a handful of teams in the NFL can win it is horse manure. The NFL is a league of parity, college football is about the haves and have nots. In addition I don’t want a computer or coaches poll to tell me who the best teams are.
Professional Sports has begun to negatively impact HISTORIC WORK ethic in America. Kinda reminds me of stories about Rome, Italy back 2000 years ago when the Colesium games of Lions & christians.
I don’t agree with any of these points. Roughly 7% of college players even have a chance of making the pros. The level of play is certainly not higher, the speed and hitting in college is less than half of that in the pros. “The Love of The Game” is also a moot point as the top tier college players are now cashing in on NIL deals. Also, how does a guy like Tom Brady last until age 45 if he doesn’t “love the game”? Those who don’t love the game in the pros get quickly sorted out. The only college football games that are more “affordable” than pro games are “Group of 5” games and the lower tier programs of the Power 5. Ever priced out what it costs to go to an Alabama, Georgia, Ohio State or Michigan game?? On average a lot more than a pro game. There’s also HUGE gap between the “haves” and “have nots” in college football. All you have to do is check the recruiting rankings and who makes the college football playoff each year and it’s almost the same teams every year. NFL has a real playoff system, how can someone say it doesn’t?? Have to wonder if whoever wrote this article even watches football.
Unfortunately, with NIL and conference realignments, college football is becoming more like the NFL rather than a community.
