Why are People Mad That James Harrison Chose the Patriots?
Being a Patriots fan, my opinion may be a bit biased here, but I don’t get why people are getting so mad about James Harrison choosing to sign with New England.
‘Shame on James Harrison’ for signing with the Patriots? Why, because they’re the Steelers rivals? Nobody gave a shit when he signed with the Bengals in 2013 according to Doug Gottlieb, why does it all of a sudden matter now? Harrison doesn’t owe that organization a god damn thing, because he was RELEASED mid-season. The comparison to a US Olympic athelete changing citizenship and going to Russia might be the worst sports take I’ve heard all year.
I’m not buying for a minute that he forced his way out of Pittsburgh either. The dude lost his job to TJ Watt because his play had been declining. He couldn’t get on the field, and Pittsburgh felt it was time to move on. If you feel so strong about him signing with the Patriots, maybe you should take a look at the Steelers and be pissed at them for releasing him in the first place.
If he chose Baltimore, Cincinatti, or any of the other Steelers rivals this wouldn’t be a big deal at all. But because every single non-Patriots fan is so jealous of their franchise that they despise them, it’s all of a sudden worse than Kevin Durant signing with the Warriors. Steelers fans are absolutely pathetic for getting so butthurt about this.
