What Will The Celtics Do With Their Final Roster Spot?

The fireworks have disappeared and the Celtics pretty much have their roster for the 2019-2020 season ready to go. Can we just acknowledge how good Kemba Walker and Enes Kanter look with their new uniforms? You don’t hate to see that. Anyways, moving on. The Celtics do have one more spot to fill in. Who will get it? Let’s take a look at the options of what the Celtics can do with their final roster spot.

Trade For Bradley Beal

The Celtics could use a quality shooter to compliment Kemba Walker in the back court. Beal is an intriguing option. That means you probably have to give away a few of your assets. But, Steven Santoro wrote the other day about a trade landing Beal in Celtic green.

To be honest, I like the move. It means we have to give up Jaylen Brown and Marcus Smart. But, I like my chances next season with Kemba, Beal, Hayward, Tatum, and Kanter as your starting five.

Sign Javonte Green

I’ll be honest, I don’t know much about Javonte Green. But, I see the numbers and am fine with this guy getting a shot at the final roster spot. 50% from the field is 50% from the field, you can’t work your way around that. Is he a long shot to make the roster? Yes. However, crazier stuff has happened.

Sign Tacko Fall

This is looking like the popular opinion. Tacko Fall made a name for himself in the NBA Summer League. A lot of fans have fallen in love with the 7’6 big man. He can dunk, clog the lane, and block shots. It looks like the deal is already being put into motion.

Is he going to be playing 30 minutes a game next season? Absolutely not! Give him garbage time minutes next season to let him get his feet wet in the NBA atmosphere. Development will be huge for Fall this season. He definitely will be a fun project to work with, if he signs any sort of deal officially with the Celtics.

Trade For Karl-Anthony Towns

This is the pipe dream. Karl-Anthony Towns is one of the best centers in the game right now. Towns is also a star that is currently stuck with a team in the Minnesota Timberwolves, that seem to be going nowhere fast. In the NBA, a franchise will not put up with a disgruntled player, especially their franchise one at that. If Towns says he wants out of Minnesota, the Celtics have the assets to pull off a deal that can bring KAT to Boston. Again, this is a pipe dream. But, crazier moves have happened!

In Conclusion

The Celtics have a number of things they can do with that final roster spot. Danny Ainge could surprise us and do something completely different. It will be interesting to see what unfolds before the season kicks off in a few months. Let’s finalize this roster and get this new look Celtics team on the court already!
