What is Going on in Philadelphia?

With the Drake vs. Pusha T beef and this Bryan Colangelo story, last night was absolutely insane on Twitter.
If you’ve been living under a rock for the last 24 hours, The Ringer reported that 76ers GM Bryan Colangelo has been running multiple burner accounts on Twitter in which he used to trash his own players, leak private team information, and praise himself. Yes, you read all of that right. This story is why I love the NBA. Here are some of the tweets:
So overnight @JoelEmbiid liked all the tweets directed at him by the alleged Bryan Colangelo burner accounts… π@DrayClarkTV will have the latest on @NBCPhiladelphia this morning pic.twitter.com/GxYjSYgYEQ

Heard @danbickley say today on his radio show that he always knew Bryan Colangelo to be thin skinned & unable to take criticism
Decided to do a Google/Bing search of @s_bonhams‘ cached tweets after hearing this (and reading @ringer article), and I wasn’t disappointed pic.twitter.com/88WKhdtOag

There are a bunch more but I didn’t want to flood the blog. You can read all of them in The Ringer’s article here. So anyway, how hilarious is this story? It has to be one of the most insecure moves I’ve ever seen right next to KD’s burner account scandal from earlier in the season. What an effing loser this guy is.
Obviously, people in Philly are pissed about the story. Joel Embiid, who was trashed multiple times by these accounts, took to Twitter himself to voice his frustration:

Joel told me that @samhinkie IS BETTER AND SMARTER THAN YOU @AlVic40117560 #BurnerAccount

Iβm upset @drake

Following these allegations, Colangelo has implored his innocence (I don’t buy it for a second):
76ers president Bryan Colangelo has been actively reaching out to individuals mentioned in those burner accounts, insisting that he isn’t responsible for those tweets, league sources tell ESPN. Sixers probe is underway in aftermath of The Ringer story.

I’m sorry if this blog feels all over the place, but I’m seriously having a hard time wrapping my head around this. I just don’t get why the guy who runs the team would trash his own players. If you’re in charge of team operations, I’m pretty sure you have the ability to get rid of players you don’t think are good. Call me crazy, but isn’t that what a General Manager does?
Since the report, the 76ers have launched a full-scale investigation to get to the bottom of this. I’ll update this blog with more information as it’s provided for us. But oh man, I haven’t stopped laughing in the last 24 hours because of this story. I hope the NBA stays this petty forever.
