What I’m looking forward to in Bills Training Camp

We are one step closer to the 2021 NFL season. Training camps are underway and Bills fans are excited for what could be another amazing season. With training camp in session, I thought I would give you a few things I’m keeping an eye on during camp. With that being said, let’s get started.

Josh Allen

There’s no denying that Bills quarterback Josh Allen had an amazing season last year. He led the Bills to a division title, two playoff victories, a visit to the AFC championship game and finished second in the MVP race. This begs the question; can he continue his performance this season and going forward? Today was the first day of camp but it looks like Josh had a pretty good day as you can see in the tweet below. I know it’s only the first day but Allen’s performance in training camp and in the preseason is something I’ll be looking forward to.

The Wide Receiver Room

The Bills have a great wide receiver room. Stefon Diggs was a huge help for Allen, as were Cole Beasley, Gabriel Davis and the Bills brought in Emmanuel Sanders to help contribute as well. For training camp, I’m keeping an eye on this receiving core. In particular, I want to see if Davis will take the next step. We already know Beasley and Diggs are good receivers, Sanders will be a good replacement for John Brown who signed with the Las Vegas Raiders. Davis had a good rookie season last year and I do think he will take that next step this year. On a lighter note, it looks like the boys are happy to be back!

Dawson Knox

Buffalo Bills: 3 players Dawson Knox should be ranked over in PFF list

Bills tight end Dawson Knox is another player I’m keeping an eye on during training camp. Last year wasn’t that good of a year for Knox. He caught Covid-19 and wasn’t noticeable after. Let’s be honest though, 2020 was a weird year and rough on a lot of players. During training camp and the preseason, I want to see how Knox does. He has shown some signs of being a good target and this could be the year he breaks out. The Bills did sign Jacob Hollister in free agency but Knox needs to show that he is the Bills tight end going forward.

The Defense

The last thing I’m keeping an eye on during training camp isn’t a player, but a group of players on the Bills defense. After a rough start to the season, Buffalo’s defense started to gel together and unfortunately, fell apart in the AFC championship game against the Kansas City Chiefs. This year, I expect the defense to be the dangerous defense we’ve seen during the last few years. From linebacker Tremaine Edmunds to rookies Gregory Rousseau and Carlos Basham Jr., I have a feeling the defense will be much better this year. We already know Buffalo has one of the best offenses in the league. If the defense can improve, then this team could be the next Super Bowl champions.

Final Thoughts

With the Bills getting training camp started, I thought it would be a good time to give Bills fans some things to keep an eye on. I’m sure fans have differents thoughts than me but these are all the things that I could think of right away. I know it’s only the first day but let’s see what transpires as training camp goes along and we get to the preseason games.
